Anime Expo Report. (Also myYugioh card dress 0.o)

Anime Expo was amazing! I'm really thankful that I got to be tabletop gaming staff. All the other staffers were really nice and I will be one of the persons in charge of the expos Yugioh tournament for the year of 2012! :D Our room size only allowed for around 130 entrants this year but hopefully next year we will have a bigger room and we can seat more people. I'll be one of the judges! ^___^

I don't know how many of you actually saw my Yugioh card dress because I only wore it half of day 1. (I usually don't wear heels and my feet were killing me >.<) But yeah here it is: Notice the Yugioh card heels ;D

Thanks to everyone who was involved in Anime expo and I hope to see you guys next year!! :D

On a side note, those (male) players in dresses..... I salute you guys. I am mad I didn't take your pics but seriously you guys, you looked sexy! xD

Were you at AX 2011? Thanks in advance for comments :) ♥

Lazy Vacation!!~~~ (Wat do? 0.o)

Havent done much these past few days. Mostly lay around and enjoy the summer weather :) I've been getting back into the MMORPG Luna.... meh, gonna play it moderatly. If anyone plays, I'm on crescent server and I go by VanessaHatake. I've also been watching Dexter.... I'm on the 4th season :D

I'll probably try to go to locals this Saturday and spread the word about Anime Expo . Its a few days away! Can't believe its finally here. I will be working at the tabletop gaming room (as I've said before) and I hope to see a lot of you there and duel you :) And, if you beat me during one of the events, you might get a prize (or so I've been told by my manager) .

Also, I've been thinking about the cosplay situation. I have an Anime Expo uniform but my managaer said it was cool if I wanted to cosplay as long as I have my staff badge. I was working on a costume, ad I'm almost finished but the wig is waaaaaaayyyyy too expensive for me (no job T___T) so I think I'll just wear some of my old costumes. I was also thinking of being Merry from Yumekui Merry but that might have to be a last minute thing. So, now, I want you guys to tell me what costume is better :D Comment your response.

Pick one :D Thanks :)

Something I've been looking forward to for a long time. Secondly, I can't wait for Anime Expo!!! I'll be there from day 0 to day 4 as a tabletop gaming staff. Hope to see a lot of you guys there, and please, challenge me to a duel!! =D haha. I'll defeat all of you! =3 ~♥ And lastly. I just can't wait for some good old fashioned sleeping! =D

Me and Gustavo at my confirmation :)
Oh, side random note, don't you think its weird that my sponsor for church is also a Yugioh player? xD Gravekeepers! Haha xD

Tabletop Game Room AX 2011 =D

Hi guys! How many of you are going to be at Anime Expo 2011? Well I am. I'm going to be staff at the tabletop gaming room and I just wanted to let you guys know about the tournaments.

OFFICIAL SITE HERE (Tabletop Game Room)

I advise all of you to register early if you plan to enter any of the bigger tournaments of the Tabletop Gaming room. There is limited space.

Wait... now before you just go ahead and only register for the Yugioh tournament, I encourage you and your friends to make a team of 2 to 4 people and enter the Anime-zing Race!

According to AX....
The Anime-Zing Race is a scavenger hunt like no other for teams of two to four people organized, and ran by the staff members of the Table Top Game Room! Compete with other convention attendees in a three day event filled with zaney races, incredible scavenger hunts, and insane game challenges for guts, glory, and awesome prizes!

Registration: To register email your team of no less than two no more than four members to waynephelps@spja.org no less than Thursday, June 30th by midnight. Anyone with a valid convention pass may be eligible for play.

Game Play: To play, report with your team to the Table Top Game Room, and receive your team’s Anime-Zing Race event card. The card will detail the games, and events you are eligible to participate in, and the point total completing the events are worth. Only one representative from your team is needed to communicate with the Table Top Staff, so please select a team leader. If you don’t select a team leader the Table Top Staff may appoint one for you. Some events, or games may require you to provide proof to the Table Top Staff that you completed the event within our designated parameters, video, or camera proof will be accepted, as will the word or signature of any other Convention Staff. Please note that some events will require you to photograph your results, so camera phones are recommended. Please note that some events will only be able to be attempted once a day, and points can only be scored for completing a specific task once.

Winning: The winning team will be announced on Monday July 4rth. The winning team will be determined by the members of the Table Top Staff based upon the number of points, and completed events that the team has. Any tie breakers will be administered by the Table Top Staff, and will be conducted in the Table Top Game Room.

Many of the tasks will be a type of shadow duel with staff members. (Including me! :3) You must win against the staff member, and each staff member will be playing the TCG or other game that they are the best at. I will be playing Yugioh as well as others, but some are playing other games.

So I hope to see you there, and I hope I get lots of challenges! =D ♥

 REGISTER HERE FOR MAJOR TOURNAMENTS

More info will be added about AX as the expo nears..... =0
Feel free to ask me any questions :)

Training for AX!

I went to training for my job for Tabletop Gaming for AX! I got to meet most of the people in the department and play a bunch of new games. I played some Yugioh, and learned how to play Apples to Apples and Whack a Catgirl. It was so much fun!

Playing some Yugioh before the meeting started
Thank you to Robin who introduced me to this lovely drink :O
It has a marble inside! :O
Also I really liked the location, it was at this nice bar right next to the beach. There was a pier and it was so nice to walk around before I went home.

Couldn't buy a drink I'm not 21 >.>

We were discussing everything that we were going to do and it seems like Anime X will be so fun this year. Expect a lot of activities from the tabletop department!! ;D And I hope to see you there and I hope I get a lot of challengers because I will be one of the people doing "shadow duels" >:D

Are you looking forward to AX??!! Are you going to challenge me to a shadow duel?!!! >:D Comment please!~ :)

Yes! Success! ^__^

I am so excited! I got hired by the tabletop gaming department for Anime Expo! I can't wait at this point. The first meeting for all of the staff seems like its going to be really fun. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and having lots of fun this year at AX 2011!

So, one of the things on my mind is: am I the only girl in the department? Is this going to be how my sister says, a "sausage fest"? xD I'd say about 97% of all card game players are male, so this is very probable.  Oh, well I'm used to it and its never been a problem.

Another thing, I hope the other people in the department have fun attitudes. A lot of people that I have met at card events have a really stern attitude and come off as really big jerks and just have this big condescending attitude. Hopefully everyone can get along without any attitude problems.

ABOUT 9 WEEKS TO GO! This seems like its going to be an amazing experience. If you don't already have your ticket get it! You wont regret it ;)

I get Another Chance! (TCG opportunity!)

Remember how I kept getting rejected? Well I have an opportunity to be a part of the AnimeX staff. I was not chosen to be a maid, but maybe I can be part of the tabletop gaming staff if I have a good interview. This is the room of the con where people play trading card games. Thanks to my friends, I have at least been exposed to all major trading card games. Also thanks to these friends Ive been playing Yugioh for two years with them and in competitions. I don't do too shabby either. :] Together with them Ive also learned to play Magic (and because of the Magic event that AX had last year), and Naruto. I don't know how to play Pokemon though. The game play seemed like Naruto but slower and it didn't really interest me.

Main card of my deck :)♥

So, do any of you guys play a trading card game? How long? Any suggestions for me for the interview? :) Any comments are appreciated!♥

RAGE and Sadness... and a Feeling of Inadequacy.

Well, I feel like I have to vent so I'm going to do it via Blogger. So in the past two or three months I've had no successes. Its just a downward spiral created by rejections, denial and just plain pessimistic thinking. Colleges I've applied to have started to send out acceptances/denials and denials seem to love me. Theres still some that I'm waiting to hear back on so my fingers are crossed.
And remember how I was so excited for Anime X maid cafe? Well yup, you guessed it, denied!~ I tried my best so no regrets. But still, still feels bad... makes me feel unattractive. I thought I had some things going for me but I guess not...
Also, my love life has rejection stamped all over it. I don't really want to get into detail with this but thought I'd mention it just to show how many aspects of life I've been denied.
I just need one thing to make me feel better but I guess I just have to try my best and wait on this one. Only time will tell and in the mean time I'll play some games and watch some anime until I get my mind off of it :)

Guess I'll listen to some Kanon-chan♥ for now. :)

Cafe Maids and Hosts♥

So, as I've mentioned before, I applied to become an official Anime X maid. And as of now I'm still waiting for a reply. So because I'm so excited, I'm going to write about Maids and Hosts in anime and in cafes!
My favorite maid in an anime is Misaki from Kaichou wa Maid-sama. She kinda has a personality like mine and she is an inspiration! She has a fiery personality but shes a really nice and helpful person at the same time. And don't get me started on how tsunderely cute she is! She is my maidsperation ^____^~

Misaki~ Kyun!
On to hosts: Well, a close friend of mine also applied to be a host. He has the looks and personality and I think he could make women swoon if he wanted to. I think his hostsperation should be the king of hosts. And there is no argument (I hope) that the winner is Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club! Like Misaki, he carries his bubbles and roses of moe wherever he goes and makes the opposite sex crumble before his beauty and personality.
Tamaki~
Onto real life maid and host cafes! Well most of them are obviously in Akihabara but you can get a glimpse of them at anime expos across the country! (Im not sure about all countries) There are so many types of fanservice cafes like, tsundere, crossplay, host, shrine maidens, cat girls, and so much more. My two personal favorites are the crossplay and tsundere ones! Im just weird like that.

Cross dressing maids!♥
Well, I hope I get chosen! Until then I'll be admiring maids and hosts and studying their ways. Arghhhh I really really hope I get chosen. Wish me luck!♥

Fate Stay Night Visual Novel

So the other day I downloaded the Fate Stay Night visual novel. I hadent played any visual novels for a long time (the last ones I played were BL ones: Animamundi Dark Alchemist and Absolute Obedience) and I really felt like playing one. This one seemed popular so I figured it was a good place to start with.

So after the 8 hours my dumb computer took to download this I started it up and started to go through it. I was happy that you start out playing from the point of view of Rin. Although it would have been nice if the prologue was a little more exciting and shorter instead of taking two hours. But then later it ties in nicely so I didn't mind. Something else I wish they had worked on is making it more interactive and the player more involved with the story. Also a boyxboy route would have been nice but you cant have everything! I'm still working on it and I'll post more about it when I finish at least one route! So far I love Archer and Rin! They make such a cute couple. And Rin is one of the better tsunderes I've seen.♥

Any other suggestions for after I finish or get bored of this one? I'm open to any genre!

Nico Nico Douga Style Dances

I've been watching alot of the dances popularized by Nico Nico Douga and there's some that really stand out in my opinion. My favorite that I've seen (I know, a bit old) is this one below. I love how its both masculine and feminine at the same time. I would love to learn the choreography to this if I get a guy to do it alongside me to reach the full effect that this dance has.

Another one of my favorites which is a solo dance is a bit old too. It get a plus from me because its sung by Luka (my favorite Vocaloid). My favorite thing about this dance is the energy and stamina that it requires. Just look at her go! You can tell that this took some serious training. And, the chorus choreography is just adorable! Kyun!~♥

Since I have to do one for the AX maid application, I'm going to do a warm-up Hare Hare Yukai for the lulz and then attempt to do one of the above. Wish me luck!♥
